General Information

I have been teaching for 7 years, starting my career at Rukuhia teaching in the junior school. I then moved to Scotland to teach. This was an amazing experience in which I learnt a lot of valuable skills. Having successfully been enticed back from Scotland to teach the seniors at Rukuhia I am convinced it has been one of the best moves of my life. I am loving the close community and relationships that Rukuhia encourages. It is fantastic to be in a place where parents are not just faces that wander past the window. Smiling happy children and communities are all I need to know I am valued and doing a good job. Anyone that knows me will tell you I am a fun loving happy person, this is an essential part of my classroom day. I am relaxed yet have very clear boundries and expectations which the students learn quickly. I have a great time with the children I work with and see myself doing this job for years to come.

General Information

Enthusiasm, dedication, creativity and a sense of humour are attributes that I believe are my greatest personal strengths.
Uppermost in my philosophy of education is the well being and development of the whole child. I work hard to develop a sincere and meaningful relationship with my students. To do this I use personal and teachable moments to establish common background experiences and build a positive rapport with them.
Having been at Rukuhia School for a period of time, I feel that I can give my students life skills and experiences that reflect the unique nature of our school. I enjoy the close family and community relationships that are evident everyday. I hope that you always feel welcome as a parent or caregiver.

General Information

I like to create an environment in my classroom where students feel confident to give things a go. Our motto is 'I can'. Reading, Writing and Maths are the key focus in our year 2-3 class but we still like to have fun and find out about things in the world around us. We are learning how to become more independent with our work and we are learning about the Key Competencies so that we can be better learners and valuable members of the Rukuhia School community.

General Information

I am passionate about teaching and learning. I have had many years experience teaching in kindergarten and in primary schools. I believe in establishing strong relationships with both children and their families. I like to set up my classroom so that children can actively take responsibility for their own learning. Children have the opportunity to develop their own special talents and interests within my classroom. The main curriculum areas in our new entrant class are reading, writing, mathematics and inquiry learning.
