Welcome to Rukuhia School. I am Kevin Drury the Principal. I am a local lad, born and breed in the Waikato. Before I got married and had two beautiful girls I spent several years overseas, living and working in countries such as Greece, Africa and Europe. To relax I enjoy all sport, trail bike riding, fishing and diving, working around the house and finding a tree to hide under with my book.
Please take some time to tour around our web site and have a look at the amazing work that the pupils are producing at Rukuhia School. Rukuhia is a rural school 10 minutes for Hamilton on Rukuhia Road just off the main Te Awamutu Road. We are a four classroom school catering for years 1 -8.
As a staff we value children learning and strive to provide opportunities and experiences that give children a well-rounded education that prepares them for life. Our philosophy revolves around doing the basics right. We have a major focus on mathematics and literacy – and integrate the curriculum learning strands across our classroom programmes.
Involving parents and the community in students schooling is an important aspect of education – we do this as a team. We want Rukuhia students to take responsibility for their education and be part of that team, which encourages participation, achievement and success.
